In a significant move towards urban development, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has sanctioned an impressive Rs 1,000.86 crore in a single day. This allocation is aimed at enhancing facilities across 17 municipalities, including seven Municipal Corporations, illustrating the administration's commitment to improving urban infrastructure in the state.

The approval is part of the broader Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, which was introduced in 2010 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure as Gujarat's Chief Minister. The scheme aims to address the challenges posed by rapid urbanization, emphasizing projects such as road repairs, sewerage, and water supply systems.

Significant funds have been earmarked for specific municipalities, including Rs 25 crore for Junagadh Municipal Corporation and Rs 54.88 crore for Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation. The development efforts also extend to smaller municipalities, focusing on essential infrastructure projects and initiatives that enhance city aesthetics and functionality.
