In a bid to fortify their stand against Maoist insurgents, 'Kandhamal-Boudh Adivasi Surakhya Mancha', an influential tribal group in Odisha, has issued a series of posters urging villagers to sever all ties with Maoist rebels.
These anti-Maoist posters have appeared in various villages across the Kandamal district, including Rebingia, Barkhama, and Bataguda, appealing to the locals to take a pledge against any form of association with the Maoists.
The posters claim that the rebels have grown increasingly selfish and abusive, accusing them of extortion, violence, and even sexual assault. The local police are examining all aspects of this emerging situation, according to Superintendent Subhendu Patra.
