Vice President Condemns Violence Against Health Worker in Kolkata

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has strongly condemned the assault on a health worker at Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital on August 9, describing it as 'barbarity expressed in extremity' and a stain on civilization.
Speaking at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Rishikesh, Dhankhar emphasized that such vile acts of violence put the entire civilization to shame and run contrary to the values of Bharat. He also admonished those making light of such incidents, terming their statements as adding 'salt to our injured conscience.'
Dhankhar highlighted the urgent need for mechanisms to protect health professionals, asserting that the profession demands security due to its altruistic nature. He criticized NGOs for their selective silence on such issues and called for societal accountability to prevent further incidents of this nature.
