West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has called on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to take immediate and convincing measures to calm public outrage following the RG Kar Hospital rape-murder incident.
Bose stressed the importance of maintaining law and order and emphasized the need for robust protection and security of women in the state. In a statement from the Raj Bhavan, the Governor made it clear that public patience was worn out, and action was long overdue.
Earlier, the Governor convened an emergency meeting with university vice-chancellors to discuss the enhancement of women's security on campuses, underscoring the broader issue of safety across the state.
