Trump's Cabinet Picks: A New Direction
President-elect Donald Trump announced that Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo will not join his administration. Despite past collaborations, Trump is exploring new candidates before his inauguration. Haley and Pompeo, both influential figures, could not be reached for comment. Trump's inauguration will be co-chaired by Steve Witkoff and Kelly Loeffler.
President-elect Donald Trump has declared that Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo, both significant Republican figures, will not be part of his upcoming administration. This decision comes as Trump prepares for his inauguration on January 20.
Haley, previously a U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, had endorsed Trump following a contentious primary battle, while Pompeo, former Secretary of State, was once eyed for the role of defense secretary. Both played pivotal roles under Trump's former presidency, yet remain absent from his latest roster of appointees.
In line with preparations for his second term, Trump has appointed real estate investor Steve Witkoff and former Senator Kelly Loeffler as co-chairs of the 2025 presidential inauguration. Neither Haley nor Pompeo could be reached for their remarks on the matter.
