A Pakistani anti-corruption court on Wednesday reserved its verdict on a petition seeking the acquittal of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi in the 190 million pounds Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.
The hearing, held at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, saw Judge Nasir Javed Rana stating that the decision would be announced on September 5.
Khan and Bibi were present during the proceedings. The case revolves around the settlement of 190 million pounds, which was sent by the UK's National Crime Agency to Pakistan after recovering the amount from a Pakistani property tycoon. Khan, as the then-prime minister, allegedly allowed the businessman to use the amount for personal settlement instead of depositing it in the national treasury.
