A high-level diplomatic delegation from Bangladesh is set to arrive in India next month for traditional bi-annual border talks with New Delhi counterparts, official sources confirmed.
The discussions, led by the BSF's Director General and Border Guard Bangladesh's DG, will be the first since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government. Scheduled for late September or October, these talks aim to address comprehensive border management, cross-border crimes, and mutual intelligence sharing.
Recent political shifts in Bangladesh have heightened the importance of these discussions. India has proposed measures to strengthen border security, including a single-row fence at 92 vulnerable patches. The Bangladeshi delegation's participation is crucial for maintaining stability and security along the 4,096-km-long border.
