Delhi Police have arrested three individuals, including a businessman's driver, for allegedly making extortion calls months after kidnapping him for a ransom of Rs 3,40,000 in outer north Delhi's Narela area, officials said on Tuesday.

Two of the suspects, Vinay (30) and Vijay (31), were apprehended after a shootout with police early Tuesday morning, while the businessman's driver, Sarvan (31), was arrested later in the day.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer north) Ravi Kumar Singh said that Rajiv Singh, a businessman from Anaj Mandi in Narela, received extortion calls on August 28. Fearing for his safety and that of his family, Singh initially stayed silent but eventually filed a complaint, leading to a dedicated police team intercepting the suspects.
