Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Tuesday that the militants responsible for recent terrorist activities were mostly those released from custody under a previous agreement.

Naqvi, in a briefing to the Senate Standing Committee on Interior, disclosed that many of these militants had crossed into Afghanistan and were orchestrating attacks from there. He noted that the Pakistani government had provided evidence of this to Afghan authorities, urging immediate action.

According to Naqvi, the Pakistani Taliban's resurgence has coincided with increased militant activities, attributable to freedom granted to militants during Imran Khan's tenure following the Afghan Taliban's rise. He highlighted a recent deadly attack in Balochistan, clarifying that no new military operations were planned, though intelligence-based actions continue in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
