Kashmir's top police official reviewed the security preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in the valley on Tuesday.
IGP V K Birdi conducted a meeting with senior police officers at the Police Control Room to assess the election readiness. The session was attended by all range deputy inspectors general and senior superintendents of police from various districts.
Birdi briefed officers on the election protocols and the expected arrival of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPF) to Jammu and Kashmir. Discussions focused on logistics, deployment phases, and coordination efforts. Birdi emphasized the need for seamless CAPF integration and effective deployment in all three election phases.
District police heads presented their preparedness plans, ensuring all measures for a smooth election. They were instructed to identify and address any gaps in their plans swiftly.
The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections are scheduled for September 18, 25, and October 1, with vote counting on October 8.
