The Kerala government has initiated a high-level investigation into serious allegations raised by LDF MLA P V Anvar against top IPS officers, including ADGP (Law and Order) M R Ajith Kumar, a close aide of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Addressing the matter publicly, Vijayan, on Tuesday, stressed the importance of maintaining discipline within the police force and announced that a senior official would lead the probe. The announcement came during a police association event, which saw the presence of Ajith Kumar on the dais.
Anvar has accused Kumar of misconduct, including phone tapping and involvement in illegal activities. The probe is expected to scrutinize these claims thoroughly, with opposition parties calling for immediate actions and transparency.
