Karnataka Minister and Congress leader Priyank Kharge has dismissed allegations made by the BJP linking him to the suicide of a contractor, arguing that the accusations stem from ideological disagreements. Addressing the media on Tuesday, he stated that the BJP failed to provide concrete evidence connecting the suicide with the state government.

Kharge criticized the BJP's narrative, claiming it is part of their leadership struggle within Karnataka. "Despite their efforts, they haven't been able to substantiate the suicide's connection to me or the government," Kharge remarked. He attributed the BJP's criticism towards him due to his opposition to their ideology and support for constitutional ideals.

The BJP's calls for Kharge's resignation intensified with Karnataka BJP chief BY Vijayendra advocating for a CBI probe into the contractor's death, alleging it occurred due to harassment from Kharge's associate. However, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar supported Kharge, rejecting the resignation demands and expressing confidence in the local police's investigative capabilities.
