Outrage in Locality After Alleged Assault of Teen Girl

A 14-year-old girl allegedly faced assault by a neighborhood man, causing widespread local protests. According to the victim's kin, intruders entered her home during a power outage. A 14-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted by a neighborhood man at her home, sparking significant local outrage, according to police reports on Thursday.

As per the victim's family's complaint, around 6 PM on Wednesday, 3-4 individuals entered the girl's house through the back door during a power outage, said Assistant Police Commissioner Rajneesh Kumar Upadhyay.

The accused, identified as a local scrap dealer, assaulted the teenager, leading to the registering of an FIR and initiation of an investigation, the ACP noted. Incensed by the incident, locals staged protests on Thursday, demanding the perpetrators be severely punished. The demonstrations escalated, with protestors ransacking a scrap dealer's shop and setting an e-rickshaw ablaze. Police intervened to restore order.
