In a resounding declaration following Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's release from Tihar jail on bail, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced on Saturday that Kejriwal will continue to operate as before, ensuring that the governance of Delhi remains unaffected.

The Supreme Court granted bail to the AAP national convenor on Friday in a corruption case associated with the excise policy 'scam' filed by the CBI. However, the court imposed specific conditions, preventing Kejriwal from visiting his office, the Delhi Secretariat, or signing any official files unless obligatory for obtaining the lieutenant governor's sanction.

During a press conference, AAP's Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, vehemently criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah, demanding his resignation for incarcerating Kejriwal on what he termed a 'fake' charge. Singh contended that the BJP is falsely claiming that Kejriwal is incapacitated in his role as Chief Minister, urging the people of Delhi to rebuff these accusations in the upcoming assembly elections.

Singh highlighted that Kejriwal holds no portfolio, with respective ministers managing their departmental files, only requiring Kejriwal's signature for those needing the lieutenant governor's approval. Emphasizing that the Supreme Court has not barred Kejriwal from his essential duties, Singh reassured that Kejriwal would continue his dedicated service to the people of Delhi uninterrupted.

Pointing to Kejriwal's achievements in various sectors, including health, education, water, and power, Singh asserted the Chief Minister's commitment to implementing government schemes effectively. He lambasted the BJP and the Union home minister, claiming that the Supreme Court's decision dismantled the 'mountain of lies' surrounding the alleged excise policy case.

The BJP has countered, insisting that Kejriwal should resign from his position as Chief Minister, arguing that his bail conditions hinder his capacity to function adequately in the role.
