Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and ex-BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has approached the Delhi High Court to quash the FIR and charges framed against him in a sexual harassment case lodged by six women wrestlers.
The petition is set for hearing on Thursday before Justice Neena Bansal Krishna.
Singh contended that the investigation was biased, primarily based on victims' testimonies who allegedly had motives of revenge, and the charge sheet was filed without verifying the credibility of the allegations.
Singh maintains that he has been falsely implicated and denies committing any offense as alleged.
On May 21, the trial court framed charges of sexual harassment, intimidation, and outraging the modesty of women against Singh. Additionally, co-accused and former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar faces charges of criminal intimidation.
The Delhi Police had filed an FIR after Supreme Court intervention in May 2023.
