An interstate drug peddling racket was dismantled as two individuals from Andhra Pradesh were apprehended for allegedly transporting 10.2 kg of hashish oil with a market value exceeding Rs 1.52 crore, authorities disclosed on Tuesday.

In a coordinated operation, members of the Special Operations Team (SOT), Bhongir, and the Pochampally police successfully detained the two drug peddlers implicated in the hash oil transportation, confirmed Rachakonda Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu in an official statement.

The suspects had sourced around 10.2 kg of hashish oil from acquaintances in Andhra Pradesh and were en route to Hyderabad. They were arrested by police teams on August 26 upon disembarking from a public bus; the seized hashish oil was confiscated. A case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, 1985, has been registered, and efforts are ongoing to catch other culprits. Allegedly, the production of the 10.2 kg of hashish oil consumed roughly 450 kg of ganja, the statement added.
