BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Court for granting bail to his sister and party MLC K Kavitha in the corruption and money laundering cases linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, stating that justice has prevailed. Rama Rao was present in Delhi on Tuesday as Kavitha's bail plea came up before the apex court.

'Thank You Supreme Court. Relieved. Justice prevailed,' he shared on social media platform X.

Several BRS MLAs and other party leaders, who were also in Delhi, extended their congratulations to Rama Rao following the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to Kavitha. The ruling party members celebrated the occasion by distributing sweets at the party's headquarters.

The Supreme Court's bench, comprising Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan, highlighted that Kavitha had been in custody for around five months and that investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had concluded. The court overturned a July 1 Delhi High Court order denying her bail.
