The lie detection test on Sanjay Roy, the prime suspect in the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor from RG Kar Medical College, is currently underway at Kolkata's Presidency Jail, according to officials on Sunday.

Two more individuals are set to undergo the test at the CBI office in Kolkata. On Saturday, four people, including former principal Sandip Ghosh, were subjected to similar tests, officials revealed.

The CBI has requested court permission to test seven individuals, including Roy and Ghosh. While the polygraph test results are inadmissible as evidence, they offer investigative direction for the agency.

A specialized team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Delhi is carrying out the tests.

Roy was arrested on August 10, a day after the medic's body was found in the seminar hall of the medical college. CCTV footage and a Bluetooth device located near the body implicated Roy, who was allegedly seen at the crime scene around 4 am. Roy, a trained boxer and civic volunteer with the Kolkata Police, has denied the allegations.

The CBI informed the Supreme Court that the crime scene had been tampered with by the time they took over the investigation, suggesting local police attempted a cover-up. The Calcutta High Court transferred the case to the CBI on August 13, and the investigation commenced on August 14.
