The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has called for a special package from the Centre to address the extensive damage caused by the recent devastating flood in the state.

At least 26 people have died and two remain missing in the aftermath of the floods. Senior Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman highlighted that the Chief Minister estimated the loss at Rs 15,000 crore, a figure that could increase after further assessment.

Barman noted that many flood victims were unable to save their valuable belongings. He proposed requesting the Centre to dispatch a team for damage assessment and suggested an all-party delegation visit Delhi to meet with the Prime Minister and other top officials for aid. The party also recommended forming local committees for effective rebuilding efforts.
