Authorities in Mexico's northern Sonora state are investigating a tragic incident involving two elderly women from Arizona who were shot dead inside a vehicle. The announcement was made on Friday by state prosecutors.
The victims, identified by their first names only as Enedina, 72, and Ubaldina, 82, were discovered in an overturned white Nissan Pathfinder located off the side of a highway.
Prosecutors are withholding further details, including the women's surnames, as the investigation continues.
