Four Criminals Arrested After Intense Encounter with Police

Four criminals were apprehended following a brief encounter with police personnel on Friday night. Two criminals were injured in the exchange of fire, while the other two were arrested after a chase. Seized items include Rs 1.21 lakh cash, a pistol, three guns, and cartridges.

Two of the criminals sustained injuries in the firefight, which erupted when they allegedly opened fire at police officers from the Sector 142 station who were conducting a vehicle check.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Hardesh Katheria said the occupants of the car attempted to flee but were chased down. Two more suspects, Sachin and Ajit, were subsequently captured, while another accomplice managed to escape, prompting police to launch manhunts to nab him.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the gang had recently raided a farmer's house in Mohiyapur village on August 11, looting lakhs of rupees. Police seized Rs 1.21 lakh cash, a pistol, three guns, and several cartridges from them.

The vehicle used in the crime has also been confiscated, with the arrested individuals confessing to multiple robberies.
