A 23-year-old man identified as Kartik Kamble has been arrested in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, for allegedly raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl, a police official reported on Friday.

According to the police, Kamble befriended the young girl on a social media platform and raped her multiple times between April and June of this year.

The victim became pregnant, and Kamble reportedly threatened her to keep silent about the abuse. He now faces charges under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, confirmed the Hinjawadi police station official.
