A POCSO court in Bundi has sentenced Shetan Meena to 20 years imprisonment for raping a minor, despite marrying her when she came of age. The 24-year-old convict was also fined Rs 80,000 and ordered to pay Rs 4 lakh for the survivor's livelihood during his incarceration.

The court found Meena guilty of abducting and repeatedly raping a 17-year-old girl in June 2022. The legal proceedings included statements from 12 witnesses and 29 evidentiary documents.

The minor's father had filed a missing report with Lakheri police, leading to a search operation that eventually resulted in Meena's arrest. Although Meena married the survivor a year after the crime, the court upheld the charges under the POCSO Act, 2012.
