Deputy President Paul Mashatile and Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie have met to advance social cohesion and moral regeneration in South Africa. The meeting, held recently, focused on developing a Programme of Action aimed at creating a socially cohesive, non-sexist, non-racial, equal, and safe South Africa.
The proposed programme will prioritize partnerships both within and beyond the government, including collaborations with Traditional and Khoisan leaders, as well as inter-faith leaders. This initiative aligns with the strategic priorities of the Seventh Administration of Government.
Key aspects of the programme include:
Addressing Obstacles: Identifying and removing barriers to social cohesion and moral regeneration.
Combatting Gender-Based Violence: Tackling gender-based violence and femicide.
Nation Building through Sport and Arts: Promoting nation-building efforts through sports and the arts.
Ensuring Equal Access: Guaranteeing equal access to sporting opportunities for all communities.
Under Deputy President Mashatile’s leadership, the programme aims to foster a more inclusive and unified South Africa while addressing critical social issues.
