A horrific incident has resulted in widespread protests in Assam's Nagaon district, where a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three individuals. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has promised stern action against the culprits.

On Thursday night, while returning home from tuition on her bicycle, the young girl was surrounded by three men on a motorcycle. They allegedly assaulted and raped her, leaving her injured and unconscious near a roadside pond. Locals discovered her and promptly informed the police.

The victim was initially treated at a health centre in Dhing before being transferred to a hospital in Nagaon. The Chief Minister emphasized that such heinous crimes would not go unpunished and has directed high-level officials to ensure swift justice. Meanwhile, public outrage has led to heightened police patrolling and vigilance in the area.
