A police inspector has been suspended following the recovery of Rs 9.96 lakh cash from his residence during an anti-corruption raid, officials reported.
Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya stated that Inspector Ramsevak, in charge of Faridpur police station, allegedly took a bribe to free two drug-related suspects.
The raid, led by Faridpur Circle Officer Gaurav Singh, found the cash at the inspector's home. The inspector fled when officers arrived at his station. An FIR has been filed against Ramsevak, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him as the investigation progresses.
