The Allahabad High Court's recent decision to stay the execution of a sentence against AAP leader Sanjay Singh has been hailed as a 'triumph of truth' by the Rajya Sabha MP.

In a post on social media platform X, Singh expressed his gratitude towards senior counsel and BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra for representing him in the case.

'The Lucknow bench has stayed the three-month sentence awarded in a 23-year-old case,' Singh said. He added that the decision validates the truth. The MP-MLA court of Sultanpur had sentenced him to three months of rigorous imprisonment and fined him Rs 1,500 for creating obstructions and inciting violence during a 2001 protest.

Despite dismissals from lower courts, the high court bench has now admitted Singh's revision petition for a final hearing, staying the execution of his sentence until further orders.
