A fast track court in Kokrajhar has sentenced a man to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty of raping a minor girl.
Special Judge J Koch of the Kokrajhar Fast Track Court convicted the man under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
The incident came to light when the girl's father lodged a complaint with the Kokrajhar police on May 23, 2019, accusing the man of breaking into their home and raping his daughter in the absence of family members. The accused has been incarcerated for four years since his arrest.
