In a significant move, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar unveiled the 'Maharashtravadi Helpline' on Thursday, aimed at ensuring that welfare schemes benefit the populace effectively.
Addressing a press conference, Pawar, who also heads the Nationalist Congress Party, emphasized that concerns raised via the helpline would be resolved within 24 to 48 hours. His office will review the feedback every evening to ensure the smooth operation of this initiative.
With an ambitious target to reach more than 2.5 crore households, the helpline number 9861717171 will provide details about various schemes, including Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana and Annapurna Yojana. Citizens can send WhatsApp messages, guided by an automated chatbot system available in English, Hindi, and Marathi, to register complaints and seek assistance.
The helpline also aims to tackle corruption by enabling people to report issues, fostering transparency and accountability. The response has been overwhelming, with 60,000 queries received in 12 days. A dedicated call center is being established to handle 50,000 queries daily, ensuring that every beneficiary receives the required help.
