The Bombay High Court on Thursday condemned the handling of a shocking sexual assault case at a Badlapur school, terming the incident involving two minor girls as 'absolutely shocking' and stressing the non-negotiable nature of their safety.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray criticized Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, asserting that those who attribute political motives to the protests are either delusional or protecting the culprits. The parents of the accused have claimed their son is innocent and framed.

Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan expressed outrage over the delayed response from both the school authorities and police, who acted only after public protests. The court has mandated the Special Investigation Team to file a detailed report by August 27.
