The incident is currently under investigation following the lodging of a formal complaint. This incident follows the brutal rape and murder of a junior doctor at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9.

The hospital admitted a 58-year-old female patient with severe ailments on Monday, but since her admission, her son and his friends have reportedly been abusive towards the staff. As tensions rise, the hospital has chosen to exercise restraint, given the patient's critical condition.
