Uttarakhand Tables Rs 5,013.05 Crore Supplementary Budget for Public Welfare

Uttarakhand's government presented a supplementary budget of Rs 5,013.05 crore for the fiscal year on Thursday in the Uttarakhand Assembly. The budget focuses on public welfare projects and includes a revenue expenditure of Rs 3,756.89 crore and a capital expenditure of Rs 1,256.16 crore.

State finance minister Premchand Aggrawal emphasized the government's commitment to public welfare while presenting the budget. The provisions include Rs 1,531.65 crore for centrally aided projects and Rs 273.17 crore for externally aided projects, totaling Rs 1,804.82 crore for resource-related projects.

The budget also allocates Rs 718.40 crore for the State Disaster Response Force, Rs 697 crore for Samagra Shiksha, Rs 225 crore for the Information department, and Rs 192 crore for infrastructure under the Urban Development department. Significant amounts have been earmarked for large constructions, ring-fencing as per NGT guidelines, development of Tehri Lake, and local body empowerment.
