Chevron announced on Thursday that it is conducting aerial inspections of its oil and gas platforms in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The inspections follow the evacuation of staff earlier this week due to Hurricane Francine.

The oil giant had evacuated employees from its Anchor, Big Foot, and Tahiti platforms as the hurricane approached the area. A spokesperson confirmed that offshore staff are expected to return later in the day.

Production activities on the platforms are set to resume once the facilities have been verified as safe, with a ramp-up in output planned thereafter.
