IS Chahal Takes on New Role in Maharashtra Home Department

Senior Indian Administrative Service officer IS Chahal has been appointed as additional chief secretary in the Maharashtra government's home department. The announcement came on Thursday, marking a significant reshuffling within the state's administrative framework.

IS Chahal, who was currently serving as ACS in the Chief Minister's Office, will continue to hold his roles in the energy, ministers, and industry departments. This appointment adds to his already extensive responsibilities.

The ACS (Home) position was previously held by Sujata Saunik, who was appointed chief secretary of the state on June 30. Saunik will continue to serve as the state's chief secretary.
