The FBI announced Sunday it is investigating an attempted assassination on Donald Trump at his West Palm Beach golf club. Just nine weeks after surviving a similar attack, Trump was unharmed as a man pointed an AK-style rifle at the club.
The US Secret Service intervened, opening fire at the intruder. The individual discarded the weapon and fled in an SUV but was later apprehended in a neighboring county. The Secret Service recovered the AK-style firearm at the scene without any reported injuries.
The incident marked Donald Trump's second close call this campaign year after a bullet grazed him in an earlier attempt. Trump's security has since been tightened, with enhanced measures at his public appearances.
