Kerala CM Advocates for Financial Relief for Landslide Survivors

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced significant measures to support survivors of the Wayanad district landslides. These include refunding EMIs deducted after July 30, restructuring loans, providing unsecured consumption loans, and suspending recovery procedures. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced a slew of measures aimed at providing financial relief to survivors of the Wayanad district landslides.

Speaking at a press conference, Vijayan said banks would refund EMIs deducted after July 30 and restructure existing loans for affected individuals. These measures were discussed at a State-Level Bankers' Committee meeting.

The CM emphasized that financial assistance would not be converted into repayment of existing financial obligations. Other decisions include providing up to Rs 25,000 in unsecured consumption loans for immediate relief and suspending recovery procedures in disaster-hit areas.
