Union Minister Kamlesh Paswan announced a significant three-fold increase in the budget for northeastern states, aiming to accelerate regional development and bridge the developmental gap with other parts of the country.
Speaking at the Solung festival in Arunachal Pradesh's East Siang district, Paswan, who is also the Minister of State for Rural Development, highlighted the Centre's commitment to fast-tracking projects in various sectors such as power, education, healthcare, and tourism. He noted visible changes already taking place in these areas.
Paswan also emphasized the importance of cultural preservation, urging the local community to promote their unique culture through tourism. Fellow MP Tapir Gao echoed these sentiments, calling for collective efforts to combat drug abuse and safeguard traditional customs for future generations.
