Ali Hussain, a notorious broker accused of facilitating the illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals into India, was arrested on Tuesday by Assam Police. His capture follows the recent apprehension of four individuals who crossed the border illicitly.

Hussain, nabbed in the riverine areas of South Salmara district, has been charged with providing shelter and assisting infiltrators. His arrest comes on the heels of a Bangladeshi woman's detention in Dhubri, who testified to using his services for a fee.

In a separate incident, three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended attempting to enter Assam from Tripura. These individuals, found with forged documents, were returned to Bangladesh. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma underscored the state's commitment to border security.
