The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Tuesday honored Inspector Kuldeep Kumar, who was killed in a terrorist ambush in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district.

A wreath-laying ceremony took place at the 187th battalion headquarters in Battal Ballian, attended by Additional Director General CRPF Amrit Mohan Prasad and other senior officers from various forces. They paid their last respects to Kumar.

In attendance were officers from the civil administration, army, and police. Kumar's mortal remains have been transported to his hometown in Haryana. The inspector was killed when terrorists attacked a patrol party in the remote Cheel-Dudu area of Udhampur on Monday.

An intensive search operation is ongoing to track down the terrorists who managed to escape the encounter site in the Cheel-Dudu belt of Basantgarh area, Udhampur district.
