Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has condemned the recent violence during a Ganesh idol immersion procession in Nagamangala, Mandya district, labeling the incident as the work of miscreants who threaten societal peace.

The government has taken the clashes between two groups seriously, emphasizing the priority to maintain peace and order in society. 'Our first priority is to maintain peace and order in the society,' the Chief Minister posted on 'X'.

Siddaramaiah highlighted that Karnataka has remained a 'garden of peace' for all communities without riots or violence for the past one-and-a-half years. He assured that relentless action would be taken against those attempting to create divisions on religious grounds, irrespective of caste or religion. Additional police forces have been deployed in the town, prohibitory orders are in place until September 14, and the situation is currently under control.
