Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav convened an emergency meeting at Samatva Bhawan in the CM House, Bhopal on Thursday to assess the impact of relentless rains and ongoing rescue efforts in the state. Through video conferencing, Yadav reviewed the situation in various districts with divisional commissioners, police top brass, district collectors, and other officials in attendance.

In light of the incessant downpour and emerging flood-like conditions, CM Yadav announced the cancellation of leaves for all officers until the situation stabilizes. He noted, 'There's a shift in the rainfall cycle causing unexpected heavy rains in September. We are in constant touch with district collectors, SPs, and other officials to ensure normalcy. Our primary directive is to prevent any hardships for the public due to floods and related issues.'

'I urge the public to stay safe and vigilant. In case your residence is fragile or damaged, the district administration is ready to assist, with all necessary safety measures in place,' Yadav added. He further warned of similar weather conditions persisting until September 30, necessitating continued suspension of officers' leaves. He stressed the importance of contacting district authorities in case of any issues, hoping for divine protection during this challenging period.

Yadav also ordered all relevant departments to expedite rescue and relief operations with utmost urgency. 'Our teams are working around the clock to ensure timely assistance reaches those affected. District administrations must act swiftly in alert zones to prevent any loss of life. Our government stands firm in its commitment to safeguard the citizens,' Yadav affirmed on his social media platform.

Additionally, the CM announced a relief package for any casualties and livestock losses due to the heavy rains. He mandated immediate dispensation of Rs 4 lakh to families who suffer a loss of human life and emphasized utilizing helicopters for airlifting individuals stranded in isolated areas. Old and weak structures are to be identified, with necessary protective actions taken, including relocation of residents if required. (ANI)
