Five Bangladeshi Women Arrested for Illegal Stay in Thane's Mira Road
Police have detained five Bangladeshi women in Mira Road, Thane, for living in India without permission and valid documentation. The arrests followed a tip-off and were executed by the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell. The women failed to provide documentation during questioning. In a significant operation, the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar commissionerate arrested five Bangladeshi women residing illegally in Mira Road, Thane district.
The action was prompted by a tip-off regarding Bangladeshi nationals living without proper documentation. Following the lead, police conducted raids at two slums, where the women were found. During interrogation, the suspects failed to produce any valid documents for their stay in India.
FIRs have been registered under the Passport (Entry into India) Act and Foreigners Act at Mira Road and Naya Nagar police stations. The investigation continues to gather more information.
