Three policemen from Thane district in Maharashtra have been suspended following the death of Aniket Jadhav, a suspected kidnapper, while in custody. Jadhav died en route from Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai after allegedly jumping out of a train window, raising questions about police conduct.

Jadhav was arrested in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly kidnapping a teenager in July 2024. The Thane district rural police tracked him down and detained him. However, during the journey back to Mumbai by Rajdhani Express, Jadhav reportedly jumped from the train's washroom window near Murai, Gwalior, and died.

While police maintain that Jadhav's death was a suicide, his family, based in Thane, suspects foul play. They have lodged a complaint with senior officers, resulting in the suspension of the three policemen, including a sub-inspector. An inquiry is underway, and Madhya Pradesh police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Jadhav's death.
