An Israeli strike on Monday evening targeted a Hezbollah arms depot in Lebanon's eastern Bekaa Valley, the Israeli military confirmed.
No fatalities resulted from the strike, though eight individuals were injured, including six Lebanese citizens and two Syrian children, according to Lebanon's health ministry. The Israeli air force was reported to have struck several Hezbollah weapons storage facilities, leading to secondary explosions that indicated a significant presence of weapons.
Prior strikes targeted senior Hezbollah militants and their facilities in other regions of Lebanon. The escalation follows Hezbollah's October announcement of a 'support front' with Palestinians, coinciding with heightened military actions between Israel and Hamas. As a precaution, the Lebanese Agricultural Scientific Research Authority closed research stations in the Bekaa Valley following the strike due to unexploded missiles landing nearby.
