Rajasthan Tightens Security for Last Monday of Sawan at Shiva Temples

The Rajasthan government has issued directives to enhance security at Shiva temples across districts for the last Monday of Sawan. Law enforcement bodies, including police commissioners and district superintendents, are tasked with ensuring safety for devotees and kanwariyas participating in the ‘jalabhishek’ ritual.

The Rajasthan government has mandated stringent precautionary measures to ensure law and order at Shiva temples in various districts for the last Monday of the Sawan month.

According to officials, police ranges, along with the commissioners of Jaipur and Jodhpur, and district superintendents, have been directed to establish security arrangements for the anticipated influx of devotees.

The police headquarters issued this directive on Sunday, emphasizing vigilance for kanwariyas engaging in the 'jalabhishek' ritual. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Vishal Bansal stated that authorities are monitoring suspicious activities, with security personnel deployed across temples.

Surveillance has also been intensified along the kanwar routes. Proactive measures are in place to manage crowds and ensure a peaceful environment around the temples.

Bansal confirmed that district superintendents and inspectors general of all ranges received these instructions from the state government focused on maintaining law and order and communal harmony.
