The Congress party in Madhya Pradesh expressed strong opposition on Sunday to the Centre's decision to recruit top public servants through lateral entry, labeling the BJP as an anti-reservation party and demanding the revocation of the decision.
The opposition party also criticized the RSS, claiming that scrapping reservation is at the top of its agenda. This comes after news emerged that 45 specialists will soon join key posts as joint secretaries, directors, and deputy secretaries in various central ministries.
Typically, such positions are filled by officers from all-India services like IAS, IPS, and IFoS, and other Group A services. MP Congress chief Jitu Patwari criticized the move on social media, accusing the BJP of consistently undermining reservation policies and the Constitution. Dr Hiralal Alawa, Congress MLA from Monawar, also condemned the UPSC advertisement for lateral entries, which did not mention reservations. He warned of a nationwide agitation by JAYS if the policy is not revoked.
