Ten fire engines and about 70 firefighters were deployed to combat a blaze at Somerset House, located in central London, on Saturday, according to the London Fire Brigade.
Somerset House, which sits on the banks of the River Thames, dates back to 1547. Originally a royal palace, it now serves as a cultural hub.
"The cause of the fire is not yet known," said the brigade in a statement.
