17-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Raped by Father: Investigation Underway

A 17-year-old girl in India was allegedly raped by her father over the course of a year. Upon discovering the abuse, the girl's mother filed a police complaint. The father subsequently divorced her via triple talaq and fled. He has since been arrested, and an investigation is ongoing.

In a harrowing case from India, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to rape by her own father for over a year, local police reported on Saturday.

According to Circle Officer Anjani Kumar Chaturvedi, the alarming situation came to light after the victim's mother lodged a complaint against her husband on Friday. In her statement, the mother accused her husband of repeatedly raping their daughter over the past year. Upon confronting him, he reportedly divorced her using triple talaq and fled from the scene.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered, and the accused was promptly arrested on Saturday. Further investigations into the incident are currently ongoing, Chaturvedi added.
