Four individuals were injured in a shooting at Virginia State University early Wednesday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
The incident occurred around 12:30 am, with officers quickly responding and discovering the victims. All four individuals were transported to hospitals for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
University spokesperson Gwen Williams Dandridge confirmed that none of the victims or suspects are enrolled for the upcoming fall semester. While classes begin next week, freshmen and student leaders have already arrived on campus. County and university police are jointly investigating the matter, and no officers discharged their firearms during the incident.
