In response to concerns raised by Sikh community leaders, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is contemplating banning the release of Kangana Ranaut's forthcoming film, 'Emergency'. The move is pending legal consultation, according to government adviser Mohammad Ali Shabbir.

A delegation from the Telangana Sikh Society, led by former IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon, recently met with Shabbir at the state Secretariat to request a ban on the film's screening. The 18-member delegation presented a formal representation, expressing their alarm over the film's alleged portrayal of Sikhs as terrorists and anti-nationals.

Shabbir passed on the concerns to the Chief Minister who has assured that a decision will be made after obtaining appropriate legal advice.
